In Golden Boy we meet Emma, a single mother making her own way. She has a lot of secrets in her past and is in hiding. We also meet Josh, a rich boy who has lost his trust fund, and is also trying to make his own way. They each find themselves having a strong attraction to each other that they are trying to fight. But, can they fight it forever?Honestly, I really liked Emma, she got pregnant at a young age and took the hard road to take care of her and her son without the help of others. Her story was by far my favorite. On the same level it was hard not to like Josh, he has all this money being offered to him, but he chooses his own path AND his own woman. He seemed cocky at first, but he is very easy to like as the book progresses.
Golden Boy was well written. It was full of action, drama, and romance. I absolutely loved the ending....Stormi

This is the first book I've read from Kate Moore, but it definitely won't be the last. Golden Boy is the story of just that...a young man who has had an easy, charmed, golden life. But now he's run into some problems and is having to make some tough decisions about taking the smooth, comfortable route he's familiar with--or doing things the hard way and finally earning his own respect along the way.
Golden Boy Josh is challenged by the doggedly self-reliant Emma, the tenant he's found himself reluctantly attracted to. Emma and her son, Max, inadvertently worm their way into Josh's casual, lazy world, forcing him to question what is truly valuable and meaningful in his own life.
Ms. Moore tells a compelling story, but my favorite thing about Golden Boy is the beautiful and unexpected ways she puts words together. I found myself stopping to re-read the lovely descriptions that brought me wholly into the story. I enjoyed Golden Boy very much and Kate Moore is now on my list of favorite authors.

Great read. I love the characters and reading about the South Bay in Southern California. Kate Moore is a wonderful writer, whether it is a Regency novel or a contemporary romance. Kudos to Kate for book 2 of the trilogy. I look forward to book 3.
In Golden Boy Kate Moore has created interesting characters who struggle with their own identities as they navigate their mounting romantic tension. I enjoyed getting to know Josh Huntington and Emma Gray, and loved the element of mystery that makes the story even more compelling. I had a hard time putting this book down, and though I have read the first book in this series, Golden Boy stands on its own. I look forward to the third book!
I'm a Southern California native, and this book took me right back to my old stomping grounds. I've read many of Kate's books, and this one is among my favorite. She's great at developing characters, and she's a master of dialogue. I loved the scenes set in the record store. Kate's attention to detail and rock star fandom are spot on. Also, who doesn't like a good private school scandal story? I look forward to Kate's next books.
While the plots for both this book and the first one in the series were absolutely strong enough to hold your interest, it is the characters that make these books such good reads. I found myself caring about the secondary characters as much as the main ones and that is rare. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Golden Boy and the Los Angeles setting. Josh the rich kid and Emma the single mom have nothing - and everything - in common. Emma is understandably wary around Josh, and the secret around her was one that kept me guessing until the end. Max, Emma's son, is a good foil for the other two, and adds to the story in just the right way. I enjoyed the way Josh and Emma come to change each other's life, and the sexy is right on the money. I will definitely buy more from this author.
