Mia's lived in her sister's shadow long enough. Now that Abby is getting married to a Frenchman, Mia scents freedom. In fact, Jean DeLeon, the groom's too-charming cousin, seems like the perfect place to start. But the House of Lions is full of secrets, and what started out as an exciting fling is quickly becoming more frustration than fun. Mia wants answers, or she wants out, and it isn't like she doesn’t have other options. Ethan Hastings, for example. Tall, handsome, and gray eyes like nothing she's ever seen before.

The fact that Jean seems to hate him is just a bonus.

(This novella takes place during the events of Forged by Fate).

Tempting Fate Fate of the Gods eBook Amalia Dillin

Amalia Dillin does it again! TEMPTING FATE is just as captivating as her debut, FORGED BY FATE.

In this novella (approx 20,000 words), we get a chance to learn more about Mia, Abby's sister, and what happened behind the scenes in Paris. I must confess, I was very curious about Ethan (Adam) and Mia's relationship, so I'm glad Ms. Dillin gave us their side of the story.

Although I adored the writing (flawless, as always), and the plot was interesting, I'm going to be honest here when I say that Mia drove me a bit crazy. I'm almost positive that's what the author wanted, but I found it difficult to connect with her as a character. I kept trying to feel sympathy for her situation--being the sister to Eve would be difficult for anyone--but I found her behavior off-putting. As I said, I'm pretty sure that's what Ms. Dillin intended in the first place, but I kept hoping Mia would redeem herself somehow. Perhaps later in the series? =)

Overall, another fabulous read. I can't wait to see where this story goes next!

Tempting Fate Fate of the Gods eBook Amalia Dillin Reviews

I really enjoyed reading this short novella. It gives us a little background on how Mia met Adam uhh, I mean Ethan. In the first story she just kind of shows up with him and not a lot is known about how she actually met him and if this is all just a game for Ethan or if he really likes Mia.

Mia does come across selfish and self-centered but I can't imagine being the sister to Eve reincarnated. Let alone later marry Adam. I can't help but think that maybe Mia might feel a little better about everything if she actually knew what was going on instead of being kept in the dark. I hope that since she married into it she does get let in on the big secret.

The novella is short and the author really lets you get an insight into Mia. After reading the first book I really didn't feel very sorry for her nor did I really give much thought as to what everything would do to her but after reading this I understand her personality better. She is selfish and whiny but she also has always lived in her sister's shadow and feels she has something to prove as well as she wants something that is all hers and has nothing to do with Abby. I can't blame her for this and it would drive me crazy knowing everyone knew something but wouldn't or couldn't tell me.

I can't wait to read the next book to see if Mia is let in on the secret and what about Lars with his electric eyes. Is he going to play a bigger role in the next book?

*I received this story free from author in exchange for an honest review.*
Just snagged this yesterday, and I already finished it ! could not put it down, another solid entry to the Fate of the Gods universe !!
Some people have mentioned finding Adam more sympathetic in this novella. I disagree, I still got a very creepy vibe from him. I don't want to give too much away, but most of his inner monologue just sounded like a stalker convincing himself he didn't have an ulterior motive. The guy can't help himself and he won't admit it.

Otherwise, this was a really interesting read from the perspective of Mia, Adam, and (to a slightly lesser extent) some of the Lions. All three are secondary characters in the first book. It's a great follow up to Forged by Fate, and a good bridge to the next part of the series. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see where Amalia Dillin takes the story!
This novella was not only an interesting storyline but a great addition to the Forged By Fate series. I really loved reading a story from Mia's point of view and the dynamic she had with her sister. We really get an in depth look at Mia, and her relationship with both Adam and Eve, her sister. I was intrigued from the beginning and was sucked in throughout the whole story! I was sad to reach the end of the story! It was a compelling story but also gave me a better understanding of Eve and Mia's relationship but also the family bond. This is a wonderful story that i would recommend everyone go read! You can read it without reading Forged By Fate and still understand the storyline! (Although I would highly recommend Forged By Fate, also!)
I adored this novella! Adam is by far my favorite character in the Fate of the Gods series, and this novella delivers. Mia is adorably sweet, adventurous, and spontaneous--and just what Adam needs in this... er... phase of his "lives". I love that Mia does just what she wants with her life, and doesn't back down. Adam might not be ready for Eve just yet, but Eve's little sister is his perfect match.

For now, at least. ;)

I can hardly wait for the release of book 2! For anyone else counting down for FATE FORGOTTEN, this novella is the perfect way to tide you over.
I really enjoyed reading this novella. Mia is a great character, and she deserves the attention. Plus, we gain insight into a couple other important people . I'd love to name drop, but don't want to spoil the surprise. This is a wonderful addition to the Fate of the Gods story line.
I still REALLY don't like Mia. But I liked the perspective this gave me on Adam when I thought he was just being a manipulative little jerk-face at the end of the first book... My cheering section is now all muddled! Curse you Amalia! Very well written I must say. Totally had me hooked.
