The Bible A Student Guide edition by Jon David Religion Spirituality eBooks

I wish I could say I was well versed with the Bible, but alas I am not. In my attempts to delve into it in the past I get lost in the bibles of my grandparents and parents with the Thou shalt and other vocabulary of a time past...then the begot started and I was down for the count. Now years later I have a desire to find my path in faith and with the help of this book and others...I actually think I will make it through with understanding and more meaning that anytime before. Thanks Jon David for helping me to that end.

The Bible A Student Guide edition by Jon David Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

A good book for Bible Study adding some basic background information on the books of the Bible. My kids found it interesting too.
I believe that we need to take Gods word as absolute. He does not change His mind on subjects like homosexuality or woman's place in the church which you kind of skimmed over. I believe that the worst thing our president did was approve same sex marriage.l don't need a pile of E-mail disagreeing with me please just read the Scriptures. The complete book or chapter.
Helpful & concise with explanations. Good cross reference to other passages. Incorporates history of the times for better understanding & depth
I enjoyed the author's simple way of stating what was said in the Bible, what where the experts opinions as well as his just the facts kind of attitude. He made no judgements either pro or con.
I only got to what is page 11 in landscape mode on my Fire HDX 7" (location 94/3124) and saw that the author of this e-book really has no idea what he is talking about in regards to anything biblical or Godly.

Excerpt from The Bible A Student's Guide by Jon David
"The creation story is puzzling. It says God created fish, but not the sea; and apparently there were waters for him to move across before he got to work."

Here is proof...

Gen 19 -10

(KJV) And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas and God saw that it was good.

(ESV) And God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear." And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

(NIV) And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.

I then flipped to the back of the book for his references and he does NOT list a Bible of any kind, only one commentary, bible dictionary, a book about English literature, an intro to Christianity book, which I found to be biased toward no-belief, another bible dictionary and a book which discusses social philosophy.

I refuse to continue reading his book and will be deleting it from my and from my cloud. I am very thankful it was free.

Attached is a screenshot from Cloud Reader of this book with the illogical statement highlighted.

I cannot and will not recommend this book to anybody.
Wonderful tutorial for any person who is starting their journey with Christ. I would recommend to anyone that is just beginning their journey.
This is simply one person's opinion and interpretation of the Bible. Parts of the Bible must have been merely skimmed as they don't match what is written. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion of the Bible. Just please don't call it a "student's guide".
I wish I could say I was well versed with the Bible, but alas I am not.
